What is the Police Explorer Program?

 

The goal of the Police Explorer Program is to teach young adults the

values needed to succeed in life and in the field of Law Enforcement

 

This is done by instilling in the Explorer Cadets:

Self-Discipline

Self-confidence

Self-Respect

Teamwork and the desire to help others

 

This Program is designed to provide Law Enforcement training and experience to the

Explorer Cadet through classroom training, hands on training, and mentoring.

 

When the Explorer Cadets reach the age of 21, they are encouraged to apply to the

Bristol Township Police Department to undergo the testing procedure in and effort to Become a

Bristol Township Police Officer.

 

Explorer Cadets must have reached their 21st birthday prior to becoming Bristol Township Police Officers

 

 

What are the requirements to be an Explorer Cadet?

 

14-20 years of age (If 14 years old, must have completed 8th grade) Copy of Birth Certificate required

 

If under 18 years of  age, parent or guardian consent is needed

 

Be a resident of Bucks County Pennsylvania

 

Have no arrests or convictions that would prohibit employment as a police officer

 

Be in good physical health and be able to participate in physical activities

 

Maintain passing grades while in school

 

Must be able to attend mandatory meetings and training sessions

 

Must be able to understand and follow verbal and written directions and be able to communicate both in writing and orally

 

Have a positive interest in Law Enforcement career, or one of community service
